Akhmedov Akbar Kilichbaevich, Associate Professor of the Department of Botany of the Faculty of Biology of Samarkand State University, became the winner of the competition organized by the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan in 2021 to send young scientists to leading foreign scientific organizations for short-term scientific internships and completed an internship in November-December 2022 at the Laboratory Geobotany of the University of Trier in Trier, Germany.

The purpose of this scientific internship was to study valuable and rare medicinal plants (Lamiaceae, Lagochilus, Salvia, Phlomis, Paraeremostachys spp.), common in Uzbekistan, using modern technologies ("Stable ecology isotope d13C, CRU) TS3.10 data set").

In the course of scientific research, together with scientists who have achieved many scientific achievements in this field, the results of the analysis of the above medicinal plants were obtained by the method of "mass spectrometry".
