In recent days, Jonibek Tavakalov, the Executive Director of the Fund for Financing Science and Supporting Innovations, has been on a business trip in the state of Texas, USA. The main goal of the trip is to arrange scientific internships for young Uzbek researchers at leading universities in the United States.
As a result of the meetings, a memorandum was signed between the Agency for Innovative Development, the Fund for Financing Science and Supporting Innovations, and one of the largest and leading universities in Texas — the University of Texas at Dallas (UTD) — regarding the organization of scientific internships for young researchers from Uzbekistan. In addition, agreements were reached with Texas A&M University (TAMU) and Rice University (RICE) to organize foreign scientific internships.
During the visit, the facilities and conditions for interns were also studied.
For information, UTD and RICE universities are among the world leaders in QS and Times Higher Education rankings for their research in nanotechnology, physics, materials science, and engineering. TAMU holds leading positions in irrigation and agricultural sciences. These universities possess modern infrastructure, including libraries, laboratories, IT centers, and innovative classrooms for all students and young researchers who wish to study there.
