On December 14 this year, a delegation of the Ministry of Innovative Development of the Republic of Uzbekistan arrived in the capital of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Baku, and began meetings with partners.

Initially, a cooperation meeting was organized at the Innovation and Digital Development Agency of Azerbaijan, which was attended by the Executive Director of the Fund for Financing Science and Innovation Support B.Okhunov, the Director of the Yashnabad Innovation Technopark Sh.Sharifov and Head of the Management of the Development of International Relations in the Field of Science and Innovation F.Khodjayeva.

From the Azerbaijani side, the meeting was attended by the Acting Executive Director of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development of Azerbaijan Inara Valiyeva and consultant of the Agency for Innovation and Digital Development Agahuseyn Ahmedov, who acquainted the guests with the organization of the agency and its activities.

The Innovation and Digital Development Agency was established under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of Azerbaijan on the basis of the Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilhom Aliyev dated October 11, 2021 “On some measures to improve management in the field of digitalization, innovation, high technology and communications in the Republic of Azerbaijan”. The main activities of the agency are the organization, coordination, implementation of activities in the field of digital transformation in Azerbaijan, including supervision and regulation.

In addition, the agency provides assistance to individuals and legal entities in the implementation of modern technologies and technological solutions, encourages innovative research and innovative projects (including start-ups), promotes innovative initiatives, and provides them with financial support.

During the meeting with the Innovation and Digital Development Agency under the Ministry of Digital Development and Transport of the Republic of Azerbaijan, issues of developing mutual cooperation and exchange of experience in the startup ecosystem were discussed.
