The project commercialized by the Agency for Innovative Development enables early detection of eye diseases among the local population.
According to Annex 2, Clause 5 of the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan No. 307 dated July 6, 2022, “On organizational measures for the implementation of the innovative development strategy of the Republic of Uzbekistan for 2022–2026,” the implementation of the commercialization project “Provision of mobile clinic services for the treatment of eye diseases” by “JANA-NAZER” LLC was stipulated. To ensure the execution of this task, the project was financed by the Agency for Innovative Development in the amount of 572.8 million UZS and was fully launched in October 2024.
The project author, Azat Tleumuratov, stated: “If we pay attention, residents of remote areas often do not have enough time to undergo medical examinations due to their daily routines. In recent years, the number of young people suffering from eye diseases caused by external factors has been increasing. For example, in the case of myopia, a person finds it difficult to see distant objects. Over time, the disease progresses and may eventually lead to complete vision loss. In glaucoma, which is more common among middle-aged and older people, intraocular pressure increases. Although no pain is felt, the pressure gradually damages the optic nerve, and restoring vision becomes impossible. The project aims to prevent such conditions and protect public health.”
Currently, a bus equipped with modern diagnostic equipment for the early detection of eye diseases, known as a “mobile clinic,” is providing medical services to residents in remote areas of the Republic of Karakalpakstan. As a result of the project, two new jobs have been created. The main goal is to improve public health awareness and develop the “mobile clinic” initiative.
