Currently, a delegation led by Jonibek Tavakalov, the Executive Director of the Fund for Financing Science and Innovation Support of the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Innovation, is on a business trip to the Islamic Republic of Iran.
During the visit, meetings were held with the management and staff of the National Science Fund of Iran, the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization of Iran, the Iranian Cancer Institute, the Center for Oncological Research, and the Center for Advanced Clinical Training of Iran.
As a result of the meeting, memorandums and agreements were signed between the parties regarding the implementation of scientific projects in collaboration with the aforementioned organizations of the Islamic Republic of Iran and the participation of young Uzbek scientists in scientific internships at these organizations.
In particular, a meeting took place with representatives of the National Science Fund of Iran. During the meeting, information was provided about projects funded by the National Science Fund of Iran, and both sides discussed the announcement of joint calls, including agreeing on the parameters of cooperation and contract conditions. As a result of negotiations between the Agency, the Fund, and the National Science Fund of Iran, a memorandum was signed on the organization and financing of the joint scientific projects in the years 2023-2025.
Also, upon the invitation of the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization, a meeting was held with the director of the organization, Turaj Valinasab.
For your information, the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization was founded in 1974 and is the largest agricultural research system in the Middle East. It includes 19 research institutes, 23 incubation centers, 34 regional scientific and educational centers, and 360 test plots.
During the meeting, information was exchanged about the reforms implemented in the field of science and innovation in recent years, and discussions were held on organizing short-term scientific internships for young scientists in collaboration. As a result, an agreement was signed between the Agency, the Fund, and the Agricultural Research, Education and Extension Organization on sending young scientists for short-term scientific internships.
The main areas of internship were determined to be biotechnology, soil science, agricultural technologies, cultivation of salt-tolerant plants, and horticulture.
At the same time, during the visit, a meeting was organized with the director of the Iranian Institute of Advanced Medical Technologies and Equipment, Professor Said Sarkor.
During the meeting, the parties held negotiations on possible areas of future cooperation, including the creation of opportunities for scientific internships in the field of surgery, and preliminary agreements were reached.
